#2 | Fire extinguishing waters – Flat land
Methodology for containing fire extinguishing waters on flat ground
- Create a runoff drainage plan
- Identify the exit points of the stormwater network that will have to closed
- Compensate for the lack of slope by increasing the size of the flood zone
- We may have to flood the buildings
- Make maximum use of passive protections: curbs, walls, embankments
- Limit unsealed areas as much as possible
- Use removable protections where passive protections cannot be installed (passageway, traffic lane, sensitive infrastructure)
Deployment diagram of 3 Water-Gate© flexible dams – 35m
Strategy: use existing passive protections (walls, curbs, speed bumps, embankments, etc.) and complete them with removable protections.
Submersible area: 5200 m2
- 1 WL-2017 + 1 WL-2020 + 1 WL-2030 + 10 BP-70 | Maximum height: 50cm
- Installation time: 3 people 20 mins
Containment volume: 800 m3

Strategy: use existing passive protections (enclosure walls) and complete them with removable devices.
Submersible area: 2300 m2
- 2 WL-2030 + 2 WL-2050 | Maximum height: 50cm
- Installation time: (rapid deployment box on site): 2 people 10 mins
Cumulative containment volume: 450 m3
