#2 | Fire extinguishing waters – Flat land

Methodology for containing fire extinguishing waters on flat ground

  1. Create a runoff drainage plan
  2. Identify the exit points of the stormwater network that will have to closed
  3. Compensate for the lack of slope by increasing the size of the flood zone
  4. We may have to flood the buildings
  5. Make maximum use of passive protections: curbs, walls, embankments
  6. Limit unsealed areas as much as possible
  7. Use removable protections where passive protections cannot be installed (passageway, traffic lane, sensitive infrastructure)

Deployment diagram of 3 Water-Gate© flexible dams – 35m

Strategy: use existing passive protections (walls, curbs, speed bumps, embankments, etc.) and complete them with removable protections.

Submersible area: 5200 m2

  • 1 WL-2017 + 1 WL-2020 + 1 WL-2030 + 10 BP-70 | Maximum height: 50cm
  • Installation time: 3 people 20 mins

Containment volume: 800 m3

Strategy: use existing passive protections (enclosure walls) and complete them with removable devices.

Submersible area: 2300 m2

  • 2 WL-2030 + 2 WL-2050 | Maximum height: 50cm
  • Installation time: (rapid deployment box on site): 2 people 10 mins

Cumulative containment volume: 450 m3
